Gayle and Destined to Shine

My good friend Gayle now has some really impressive National Championship win photos to her credit, but I think that the picture below is every bit as important! And I bet Gayle agrees with me!

Gayle and Addie, 1998

We met Gayle Pniak when she was still Gayle Winterton! Way back in 1998, Gayle and her mother, Louise, had a mare named Baskhemo's Adele in foal to our *Gdansk son, Empyrean. That filly, Addie (short for Emprssve Addition) was the beginning of a very cool Scottsdale Story! When Gayle produced that first filly, I don't think any of us had working western on our minds. The bloodlines certainly lean much more towards some kind of English career. Gayle very aptly described the Empyrean daughters as "gritty with big hearts"! However, Gayle wanted to compete in reining, so that's exactly what she and Addie did!

Once Gayle knew that reining was what she really wanted to do, she focused her breeding efforts to producing horses that would excel in that discipline! Her first "baby" in that respect was born in 2006. Maybe Lou Dunnit, by Definitly a Dunnit and out of her purebred Arabian mare, Gallant Cat, took Gayle to a Scottsdale Top Ten in Reining AOTR in 2012. To date, Maybe's NRHA earnings are approximately $10,00.00

Jumping forward to 2010, Gayle bred Absolute Czarina to their own Quarter Horse stallion, Shiney and Expensive and in 2011, Destined to Shine is born. And what a prophetic name that is! In 2016, Gayle brought home "the roses" with a horse that she bred. Owned the dam, owned the stallion. Actually a pretty quick journey. And the smile is still the same!

Gayle and her latest star, Destined to Shine. By the QH stallion, Shiney and Expensive and out of the Czarnolas daughter, Absolute Czarina. 2016 US National Champion Half Arabian Reining Horse Futurity and Half Arabian Reining Junior Horse. NRHA earnings to date, approximately $14,000.00. Tyson Randle trainer.
