Happy Holidays from TeamTrox
If I get Mike a Christmas present and subsequently get the benefits, is it really a present for Mike or is it for me? Hmmm. Seems like the perfect example of a TeamTrox sort of thing. In this case Mike has very happily upgraded to a new Canon camera with some nifty new accessories and (as I often do) I set him a last minute holiday challenge, So from Mike and Kath at El Rancho Escondido we wish you the very best of holidays. How do we celebrate it here on Catalina Island? I

Once Upon An Island...
…Lived a small group of Arabian horses. They arrived from the East, their descendants traveled the West and eventually all over the world! In 1963, trainer Joe Dawkins won the first National award for Catalina Island Arabians in Dallas, Texas. No one knows for certain how that trophy traveled back to the Trophy Room at El Rancho Escondido, but what I can tell you is that the newest trophy coming from an Arabian National Championship show was hand carried from Tulsa to Cata

Team Trox at Arabian Nationals 2025
Hello from Team Trox in Tulsa! Mike and I will be (again!) focused on the Pavilion Arena and Trail Semi-Finals today and then this evening we'll move over to the Mustang Arena for the first of the Ranch Riding classes. First up was the In-Hand Trail for the Adult Amateurs followed by the Semi-Finals in the Half-Arabian and Purebred Trail Open and then after that, the Half-Arabian and Purebred English Trail for the AAOTR group. Motivational Monday! Ride with a Smile!
During my time working the front desk at the AHA National show, it was my pleasure to meet many, many interesting people. And it was my very great privilege to meet a very special horsewoman by the name of Karolyn Kime. The first year I met her a simple request for a show program led to her fascinating story of her career with her Arabian stallion Rajag. And while Rajag was remarkable, it’s Karolyn herself that prompted me share her story. She’s the type of woman that didn’t
